Oranmore Village at Christmas
The magic of the season truly comes alive in Oranmore thanks to the dedicated efforts of the OCDA and our wonderful community. Each year, we take great pride in coordinating the village’s festive Christmas lights display, a project made possible through the incredible generosity and ongoing support of our local business sponsors. Beyond the twinkling lights, we also love bringing families together for our annual children’s Christmas party. It is always a highlight of the year, filled with festive snacks, fun-filled games, and a lively disco that keeps the holiday spirit bright for all our local children.
Village Christmas Lights
Our village Christmas lights display is a labour of love that transforms Oranmore into a beacon of festive cheer throughout the winter months. Every year, the OCDA oversees the meticulous planning and installation of these lights to ensure our streets capture the warmth and wonder of the holiday season. This annual tradition would not be possible without the vital contributions and generous donations from our local businesses; their partnership allows us to illuminate the village center, creating a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. We are deeply proud of this collaborative effort, which turns our village into a sparkling destination that brings our entire community together during this special time of year.
Children's Christmas Event
Our children’s Christmas party is one of the most anticipated events of the season, hosted in the welcoming surroundings of Keanes Bar & Restaurant. It is a wonderful afternoon packed with holiday cheer, featuring plenty of fun games and a lively kids’ disco that gets everyone on their feet. We also love to showcase the incredible creativity of our local children by displaying their entries from our annual Christmas colouring competition, which runs throughout the weeks leading up to the party. To keep everyone fueled for the festivities, we provide plenty of tasty treats, including everyone’s favourite—fresh, festive crepes—making it a truly special celebration that brings the magic of Christmas to life for the children of Oranmore.
